Replica of a CYPHER wheel decoder. Purchased at Mount Vernon gift shop in 2010. High-quality hardwood, all the wheels turn easily. Item was looked at a few times, but never really played with. This device was invented by Thomas Jefferson while he was Secretary of State for George Washington between 1790 and 1793. There are instructions on the box on how to use the secret decoder cipher wheel. Fun toy for a kid who likes puzzles or is into Spies. The box has a few minor scuffs
