Antique 1911 12-Month Calendar Plate, Cooper Brothers Astoria, Illinois

Specifications

This is a very nice local calendar plate made for some type of local business in the town of Astoria, Illinois back in 1911. It measures about 8 and 1/2 inches in diameter. The maker's mark is not entirely clear, but we suspect it was made in the UK given the popularity of crown-based maker markers among that country's manufacturers in the early 1900s. As noted, the plate is in very nice condition overall - it has crazing in the porcelain, some stray marks in the glaze, and some loss of gilding and color. But, for a 1911 plate, it looks great.
